Let’s Talk Lung Health

Dr. Holsey, founder of HALO for Families, and executive team member of the African American Wellness Project (AAWP), wrote a community service grant focused on addressing lung health issues in the African American community.  This proposal was successfully funded by the CHEST Foundation.  This grant supported a virtual lung health program for the entire family in partnership with AAWP, the Jack and Jill of America, Jacksonville (FL) Chapter implemented, on MLK Day, January 17, 2022.  We focused on adult and pediatric lung health conditions – prevention and treatment.  We also had a segment dedicated to teen vaping.  Jack and Jill medical professional Mothers, Jack and Jill Teens, and a young adult and former vaper contributed to this virtual educational event.
